In an age of instantaneous communication, the paintings of Peter Zlatkoff are abstract and thought-provoking. With measured dabs of colour, Peter builds up layers of paint to create tones and forms; geometrical elements in his pieces allude to the analytical approach that underlies his art. The illusion of intricately ordered chaos is the result of a compelling story.
To tell Peter’s extraordinary tale, we interviewed him and his father Zlatko in their Lyall Bay home, then set about photographing some of the 50 or more incredible paintings that Peter has created over the past two decades.
We wanted the website to showcase the work yet not feel intrusive or overbearing – Peter’s work speaks volumes for itself. The resulting website is a joy to use, is fully responsive and capable of displaying Peter’s paintings at large resolutions.
